Sydney Venture Partners is a student-led venture community. We help founders get investor-ready with honest, structured feedback — and, when it's genuinely useful, we make introductions. No fees. No fluff. Just a serious room that takes your story seriously.
Learn venture evaluation by doing it, alongside others who want in.
Become a member →Every week, our members do the real work of early-stage venture: they meet founders, listen hard, and pressure-test the story behind the pitch. They learn by evaluating actual startups — not case studies — using the same lens a good investor would bring.
That's good for our members, and it turns out to be genuinely good for founders too. You get a room of sharp, curious people giving you honest feedback, helping you tighten your narrative, and — when there's a real fit — introducing you to people in our network.
We're upfront about what we are: a volunteer, student-led community. We don't invest, we don't charge, and we don't handle your deal. What we offer is rarer than money at the earliest stage — a straight answer and a warmer introduction.
The most valuable thing an early founder can hear isn't "yes." It's an honest "here's what's not working yet" — from someone who's rooting for you.
Most early feedback is either too polite to be useful or too vague to act on. We do the opposite: structured, candid, and specific — the kind of read you'd get in a serious investment conversation, without anything riding on it.
We evaluate your startup against a clear scorecard and tell you what we see — strengths, gaps, and the questions a real investor will ask.
If it's helpful, we'll work with you to sharpen the pitch, the story, and the fundamentals before you go in front of anyone who matters.
The strongest founders we work with present to an invited room of operators, investors, and ecosystem builders from our network.
Whatever we decide, you'll hear back — clearly and quickly. We never go quiet.
The first ask is simple: 30 minutes to hear your pitch.
Request a pitch conversation →SVP is a hands-on venture learning program. You won't just study how investors think; you'll practise it every week — sourcing real startups, meeting real founders, and forming a real point of view you can defend. You don't need any experience or a particular background — anyone curious and willing to do the work is welcome, whatever you've done before.
Start with the fundamentals, then move straight into the live pipeline.
Source opportunities, run founder conversations, score deals, and bring your call to the weekly pipeline meeting.
Learn to separate signal from story, and to give feedback that actually helps a founder.
Help the strongest founders get ready for the room.
For curious, high-agency people who want reps in early-stage venture and don't mind doing the work. Voluntary, experiential learning — you're here to grow, not to clock in.
By the time a founder reaches our Demo Day, they've been through honest feedback and a readiness sprint. That means less noise for you and more signal — a curated look at early-stage founders from the Sydney ecosystem.
Share what you've learned with the next generation at our biweekly sessions.
Meet a small group of founders who've earned their place.
Sponsors and partners help us run great events — kept entirely separate from any individual founder conversation.
We make simple, factual introductions when there's a genuine fit. We don't broker deals, take a cut, or get between you and a founder — you run your own process, on your own terms.

Demo Day — selected founders present to an invited room.
SVP started with a simple frustration: the best way to learn venture is to do it, and the best thing you can give an early founder is an honest read. So a group of MBA students in Sydney built the room they wished existed — one that trains the next generation of investors while giving founders feedback worth their time.
We believe in being straight about what we are. SVP is a volunteer, student-led, not-for-profit community. We're not an investment fund, we're not licensed advisers, and we don't charge anyone. We evaluate startups, give honest feedback, and make introductions where they help. That's it — and we think that's plenty.
A useful "not yet" beats a comfortable "maybe."
Judgment is built in the room, not the textbook.
We close every loop, even on a pass.
No. We're a learning community, not a fund. We give feedback and make introductions — we don't write cheques.
Nothing. SVP is free for founders and run by volunteers.
They stay yours. We work from your pitch to give feedback; your confidential documents stay with you.
We were founded by students, but we operate independently and aren't endorsed by or affiliated with any university.
We help you get investor-ready — a sharper story and stronger fundamentals. For specifics like valuation, instruments, or legal and tax questions, we'll point you toward the right professionals.
When there's a genuine fit, yes — a simple, factual introduction. From there, you and the investor run your own conversation.
